My Logo Design Process

Here i explain my approach to designing your logo.

Dialogue:

This is where i take the time to gather information from you the client, so that i can better understand your needs. I will almost always ask my prospective client to complete my questionnaire, as it helps to determine if I'm the right person for the job, and if so, provide a price quote. From there we can get into more details.

Research:

The moment i am giving the job i begin an extensive research about your business. This may include asking more questions, analyzing your website, if  one exist, and studying your industry, including your direct competitors. This extra research is key to creating an appropriate and non-generic logo that sets you apart from your competitors.

Conceptualization:

This is the most important step in the designing process and is where the majority of my time is focused on. It involves jotting down key words that best represents your business. This helps to facilitates the drawing of numerous sketches of concepts and ideas. After which a the rough concepts are narrowed down to a selected few.

Refining Stage:

This is where i elaborate further on the rough concepts selected from the conceptualization stage. Sketches are scanned and redrawn in adobe illustrator and time is invested in finding the most appropriate color-scheme and typeface.

Presentation:

In this step i present the logo in mock-up form on things such as business cards, packaging, signage, etc. This gives the client a sense of how the design will look in real life applications.

Revision:

Upon feedback from the client, any necessary changes to the presented logos will be addressed (i.e. color, type, graphic modification).

Finalization:

When the client is satisfied with the design and payment is made, i compile all design files and send to you by email or dropbox . Assistance with printing can be arranged, as well as any stationery or branding design needs.
